  ince
1985 the City Pipers of ’s-Hertogenbosch have performed in
historical parades and at important events for more than 200
times, not only in ’s-Hertogenbosch, but also outside the region.
As was the case with the ancient City Pipers,
the new guard also sees to the musical accompaniment, when VIPs
are visiting the city. For instance, the “royal” performance
when Queen Beatrix visited the city and they also played music
at the state visits of King Albert (Belgium) and Prince Charles
(Great Britain), when they came to visit ’s-Hertogenbosch. The
City Pipers were present when the Zwanenbroeders [Swan
Brotherhood] received Queen Juliana and Prince Consort. There
was also a royal performance when Crown Prince Willem Alexander
and Maxima, his fiancée, paid a reconnaissance visit to the
capital of North Brabant.
 Across
the borders the Bosch City Pipers played their tunes in Belgium,
France, England, Germany and Spain.
In the near future the Bosch City Pipers will give concerts
again and add lustre to official banquets. All this follows a
rich tradition which has been existing in ’s-Hertogenbosch for
more than 275 years.
